A soul-led conversation with Dragos Santosha about awakening, conditioning, intuition, and the courage to follow the life that is calling you.
There can come a moment when the life you have built no longer feels like the life you are meant to keep living.
From the outside, everything may appear fine. You may have followed the expected path, met your responsibilities, achieved important goals, and become the person others could depend on. Yet beneath it all, something feels incomplete. A quiet inner voice begins asking questions you can no longer ignore:
Is this truly my life—or simply the life I learned to create?
What would change if I listened to the deeper calling within me?
In this episode of Just Be True ~ A Soul-Led Podcast, I sit down with Dragos Santosha, a Divine Destiny Guide, Inner Alchemist, author, and founder of the Ananda Meditation Retreat Center and Divine Destiny Academy. Our conversation explores what happens when the identity we have been living begins to fall away and the soul asks us to remember who we truly are.
When a Successful Life No Longer Feels Aligned
Dragos knows what it means to change direction. After studying in the United States and beginning a promising corporate career, he recognized that the path he was following was not his own. He made a complete change and chose to follow his inner guidance.
That decision became the beginning of a much deeper transformation—one that took him from corporate life into spiritual practice, teaching, writing, retreats, and helping others reconnect with their soul’s purpose.
His story reminds us that success and alignment are not always the same thing.
A life can look impressive and still feel empty. It can make sense on paper while feeling wrong in the body. We may be grateful for everything we have built and still recognize that we have outgrown it.
That recognition is not failure. It is awareness.
The Life We Inherit Versus the Life We Choose
Much of what we call “our life” may have been shaped before we were old enough to question it. Family expectations, cultural definitions of success, fear, responsibility, and the need for approval can quietly influence the choices we make.
Over time, those choices become an identity:
- The dependable one
- The successful one
- The person who keeps everyone else comfortable
- The person who does what is practical
- The person who does not take unnecessary risks
These identities may have helped us feel safe or accepted, but they can also make it difficult to hear the truth beneath them.
Awakening often begins when the old identity can no longer contain who we are becoming. The restlessness, uncertainty, or dissatisfaction we feel may not mean that something has gone wrong. It may mean that something more authentic is trying to come forward.
Your Soul’s Calling Is Not Always Loud
We often imagine purpose arriving as a dramatic revelation. Sometimes it does. More often, it begins as a subtle sense that there must be more.
It may sound like:
- “I cannot keep doing this the same way.”
- “This no longer feels like me.”
- “I want my life to mean something different.”
- “There is a part of me I have not allowed myself to become.”
The challenge is that conditioning is usually louder than intuition. Fear immediately asks how the change will work, what other people will think, and whether we are being unrealistic. The mind wants a complete plan before it will permit us to move.
The soul rarely gives us the entire map. It offers the next honest step.
Listening to that guidance does not require abandoning every responsibility or making an impulsive decision. It begins by creating enough quiet to recognize what is true. From there, we can start releasing the beliefs, roles, and expectations that keep us attached to a life we have already outgrown.
The Courage to Follow Inner Guidance
Leaving the familiar can feel frightening even when the familiar no longer feels right. We know how to function inside the old life. We know what is expected of us there. A soul-led life asks us to move before we have proof that everything will work out exactly as planned.
That is where self-trust becomes essential.
Dragos’s journey shows that transformation is not only about receiving spiritual insight. It is about living what we have come to know. Intuition becomes meaningful when it influences our choices. Awareness becomes transformation when we allow it to change our direction.
The path may ask us to release certainty, but it does not ask us to move without support. Spiritual practice, conscious community, time in nature, meditation, and honest self-reflection can help us distinguish fear from inner guidance and respond with greater clarity.
Why This Conversation Feels Personal
This question—What if the life you are living is not the life your soul chose?—is one I understand deeply.
When my own long career in the Federal Government ended, I found myself standing between the life I had known and the life that was asking to emerge. The transition brought uncertainty, but it also created space for me to listen more deeply to the parts of myself that could no longer remain in the background.
Just Be True grew from that listening.
The work I do today through intuitive guidance, Reiki, spiritual mentorship, channeling, teaching, and this podcast reflects a truth I had to learn to trust: sometimes a life change does more than close a chapter. It reveals a part of you that has been waiting for permission to live.
Your path will not look like mine or Dragos’s. It is not supposed to. A soul-led life is not about copying someone else’s transformation. It is about becoming honest enough to recognize your own.
Questions to Sit With
As you listen to this episode, give yourself space to consider:
- Which parts of my life feel genuinely aligned with who I am now?
- Which choices have been shaped primarily by fear, approval, or expectation?
- What keeps returning to my awareness, even when I try to dismiss it?
- Where have I outgrown an identity that once kept me safe?
- What is one honest, grounded step I can take toward the life that feels true?
You do not need to force an immediate answer. Let the questions open something within you. Notice what brings relief, what creates resistance, and what quietly feels like recognition.
Remembering Who You Are
The soul’s path is not necessarily the easiest path, but it is the one that brings us closer to ourselves.
It asks us to look beyond the roles we have performed and the expectations we have carried. It asks us to trust the quiet knowing beneath the noise. Most of all, it invites us to stop treating our deepest longings as distractions and begin recognizing them as guidance.
Perhaps the life your soul chose is not somewhere far away. Perhaps it is already revealing itself through the questions you are asking, the discomfort you can no longer ignore, and the vision that continues returning to your heart.
You may not need to know every step.
You may only need the courage to acknowledge what you already know.
