The Eternal Bond of Love and Grief

The world grew softer the day you left,
as if the wind itself took a breath,
pausing in sorrow, hushed and still,
carrying silence where laughter once filled.

Your chair sits empty, yet I still see
the way your smile lives inside of me.
Echoes linger in every room,
light in the shadows, love through the gloom.

Grief is not heavy because you are gone,
it is heavy because love carries on.
My heart remembers with every beat,
a bond unbroken, a thread complete.

Though I cannot reach for your hand today,
I feel you near in another way.
In whispers of stars, in dawn’s first light,
you walk beside me through every night.

So I will honor, I will remain,
living for both of us, through joy and through pain.
And when my time comes, I will not fear,
for love has no ending—
and you’ll be right here.
